HOW TO GET TO North west bali?

Pick up
We can arrange your transport from the airport or your hotel and drive you to Sumberkima Hill. Cost for a pick up from the airport is RP 800.000 for 4 people and RP 850.000-1.200.000 for 5-10 people. Transport from the airport will take approximately 4 hours depending on how busy it is in the south.

It is also possible to make a day trip with scenic stops along the way for IDR 900.000 with a car suitable for 4 people. You could for instance choose to stop at the twin lakes, the Ulun Danu temple, the Munduk waterfalls and the Jatiluwih rice terraces.

Driving yourself
In case you arrive with your own transport, you can use the following directions.

Closer to Sumberkima Hill:

After Pemuteran you cross a bridge to reach Sumberkima. After 400 meters you pass a small airfield on your right. After 700 meters you will see a Sumberkima Hill sign on the right side of the road, indicating the exit is 650 meters away. There you will find signs on a pillar at the right side of the road directing you to a small side road up the hill on your left. Please take a left at that sign. You can follow the small Sumberkima Hill signs after that.

Route 1 to Sumberkima Hill

+/- 4 HOURS

This is the fastest and most scenic route. At the panoramic view point, situated at the pass of Wanigiri, you turn left, westward, following a road that runs high above the north side of the twin lakes Buyan and Tambligan. The road winds slowly down with beautiful panoramic views, passing the villages of Munduk (with the Munduk waterfalls), Banyuatis (famous for its coffee), Gunungsari, Mayong, Rangdu and Ringdikit, on to the old market town of Seririt. From here you follow the coastal road to the west to Pemuteran.

Route 2 to Sumberkima Hill

+/- 4 HOURS

The route through Pupuan is a good alternative for the road past Bedugul and Munduk, as that road is becoming more congested due to people visiting lake Bratan. The Pupuan route is also less steep and winding and thus more comfortable. The only downside is that you have to use part of the busy road between Gilimanuk and Denpasar with all the traffic to and from Java. Around Selemadeg you turn north towards Pupuan and Seririt. This part is very quiet and takes you through some interesting villages and beautiful landscapes. There are several scenic stops with picture perfect rice paddy views. After Seririt you turn west towards Sumberkima and follow the coast road.

Route 3 to Sumberkima Hill

+/- 4-5 HOURS

With the route among the south coast heading towards Gilimanuk you avoid the mountains, but this road has much less scenic quality. You will also be on the road that most trucks between Java and Denpasar take and when it is busy you can be stuck behind a truck for a long time. On this road you will pass Balian Beach and Medewi, two great surf spots that are worth a visit. You will also pass Negara, the capital of West Bali. At Gilimanuk, the ferry port towards Java, you turn back east towards Pemuteran. This part is a lot more quiet and takes you past the Barat National Park.
