THE SUMBERKIMA STORY
Guardians of Bali's last secret
Three generations of island wisdom & conservation
Our story begins with the ancient Balinese philosophy of Tri Hita Karana—the harmony between humans, nature, and the divine. For generations, the village of Sumberkima has lived by these principles, and today they guide every decision we make. From our architectural choices that honor traditional Joglo design to our daily operations that respect the natural rhythms of the land, we are custodians of wisdom passed down through time.

THE FOUNDERS
Meet the visionaries behind Sumberkima Hill
Sumberkima Hill began as a simple dream — a home for ourselves and a few houses for friends, built around the idea of an interdependent community. But the magic of this place had other plans. Visitors fell in love with the hill, the views, the peace — and some asked us to build a home for them too.
With every new step, new possibilities revealed themselves. Our children joined in, bringing fresh energy to our vision of creating not just a retreat, but a living example of how a village can grow in harmony — with nature, with neighbors, with tradition.
Today, Sumberkima Hill has blossomed into a little village of its own. A mosaic of unique houses and shared spaces, where guests can come for a few days or stay for months, and discover a more authentic Bali — restorative, respectful, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
